Ford Figo Aspire :
Ford India’s first offering in the compact sedan segment, the Figo Aspire, has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 4.89 lacs (ex-showroom, New Delhi) on 12-Aug-2015. The sub-four meter sedan will be competing against the likes of Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Honda Amaze and hence will be offered in a very competitive price bracket. The car is offered with two petrol and one diesel engine options and some of the unique features like 6 airbags, SYNC infotainment system, MyFord Dock, Ford MyKey, etc.
Engine :
This vehicle is introduced with two petrol and one diesel engine option. One of the petrol engine is a 1.2-litre, Ti-VCT mill that has a displacement capacity of 1196cc. This motor is based on a DOHC valve configuration with 4-cylinders and is integrated with a sequential fuel injection system. The manufacturer has designed this motor in such a way that it can generate a maximum power of 86.7bhp of maximum power at 6300rpm along with a pounding torque of 112Nm at 4000rpm. This mill is coupled with a five speed manual transmission gearbox. There is another petrol engine, which is also based on the same configuration like the aforementioned 1196cc mill. However, this one has a total displacement capacity of 1499cc and is integrated with a turbocharger. It is capable of producing 110.5bhp at 6300rpm that results in a hammering torque of 136Nm at 4250rpm.
Transmission :
The transmission duties are handled by a five speed manual gearbox, which transmits the output to the front rims.
Interiors :
The manufacturer has introduced this vehicle with an attractive internal cabin that has a two tone color scheme. Further complimenting its elegance is the glossy black and metallic accents.The instrument cluster has a sleek structure featuring three analogue gauges and several warning lamps. The most attractive thing inside is the 3-spoke steering wheel that has high-gloss black accents along with company's badge embedded on it. It is also mounted with audio control switches, which gives easy access to the music system. The legroom is more than what we have anticipated, as this sedan is built with a pretty long wheelbase. All the seats inside have an ergonomic design with side bolsters for better support. These seats in the top end trim have leather cover, while the remaining trims get them with fabric upholstery.
Exterior:
This newly launched compact sedan looks much more stylish as compared to its competitors in its highly competitive segment. It has an aerodynamic front view with a slanting bonnet featuring a character lines over it. Further enhancing this appeal is the signature radiator grille that has horizontally positioned slats on it. In base and mid range trims, it is done up in silver, while in the top end trim, it gets chrome garnish. The windscreen is also pretty wide, enabling a better view to the driver. The company's insignia has been positioned just above the grille giving it a visually striking appeal. The sleek headlight cluster has a kind of swept-back design and blends into to car's aerodynamic stance. This chrome bezel cluster houses powerful halogen lamps along with turn blinkers. The front bumper has a conventional design, painted in body color and is housed with an air intake section along with fog lamps.On either sides there is a taillight cluster with arrow design. It houses brake lamps along with turn indicators.
Acceleration :
The petrol trims, which are powered by a 1196cc Ti-VCT engine can reach a top speed in the range of 145 to 155 Kmph, while accelerating from 0 to 100 Kmph mark in 15 seconds. Its diesel variants featuring a 1.5-litre TDCi engine can break the 100 kmph speed barrier in approximately 11.5 seconds and can go upto a top speed of 165 Kmph.
Mileage :
The 1.2-litre TiVCT engine that is capable of delivering a mileage of 18.16 Kmpl. The other petrol mill is a 1.5-litre, Ti-VCT engine that is mated with an automatic gearbox, it can give away a mileage of approximately 17 Kmpl. On the other hand, the diesel variants are powered by a 1.5-litre TDCi engine that has common rail direct injection technology. The company claims that this engine can produce a peak mileage of 25.83 Kmpl.
