Audi A6 :
Audi India launched the A6 facelift in India at a starting price of INR 49.50 lacs, ex-showroom New Delhi on 20-Aug-2015. The vehicle was officially revealed at 2014 Paris Motor Show in October last year. It is coming with the stylistic changes inside out with no mechanical upgrades. With all the added goodies, the 2015 A6 is expected to be slightly costlier than the outgoing car and will continue to compete with the Mercedes Benz E Class, BMW 5-Series and Jaguar XF.
Engine :
It is fitted with a 2.0-litres TDI power plant. It has a total displacement capacity of 1968cc and fitted with a common rail based direct injection system. It carries four cylinders that are further integrated with 16 valves. It has the ability to produce a whopping power of 187.74bhp in the range of 3800 to 4200rpm, while yielding a hammering torque output of 400Nm between 1750 to 3000rpm. As for the other variant, it is fitted with a 1.8-litre TFSI engine that also has the same cylinder and valve configuration as the other motor. It is integrated with a direct fuel injection system along with a turbocharger and Audi ValveLift system for enhanced efficiency. It is capable of unleashing 187.74bhp between 4200 to 6200rpm along with a torque output of 320Nm in the range of 1400 to 4100rpm.
Transmission :
The drive-trains are coupled with an advanced 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission gear box, which delivers power output to its front wheels.
Interiors :
The cabin is integrated with a long list of comfort features including auto release function, front passenger seat adjustment facility from the rear, central control unit with radio remote control, parking aid plus, and cup holders. The cabin has an advanced four zone deluxe automatic air conditioning unit that cools the cabin and creates a pleasant ambiance. It comes with separate temperature control for driver and front co-passenger. It has an automatic cruise control system that maintains the speed of above 30 Kmph and the set speed is displayed on driver information system. The driver information system has a high resolution seven inch TFT color display with MMI touch. It gets the updated Audi music interface that provides connectivity to Apple iPod, USB storage medial as well as MP3 players. It has the advanced BOSE surround sound system with fourteen loudspeakers that offers an outstanding sound experience. It includes automatic opening of boot lid, multi-functional leather steering wheel with shift paddles, foot well lights, cigarette lighter and many other aspects that improves the comfort levels of its passengers.
Exterior :
It has a bold radiator grille with a lot of chrome treatment and embossed with a prominent logo of the company in the center. This grille is surrounded by a well designed headlight cluster that is integrated with Matrix LED headlamps. The presence of automatic dynamic headlight range control prevents oncoming traffic from being confused. It also has LED daytime running lights, which gives the vehicle an impressive appearance. The bumper is further fitted with a couple of round shaped bright fog lamps, which adds to the visibility of the driver. Its large windscreen is made of heat insulated glass and fitted with a set of rain sensing wipers as well. Its rear end has a lot of attractive features that gives the vehicle an appealing look. It has a large windscreen that is integrated with a defogger, which has a timer as well. It is also accompanied by a LED high mounted brake light. The window sill gets a chrome finish, while external rear view mirrors are in body color with LED side turn indicators. These electrically adjustable and foldable mirrors has auto dimming and memory function for added convenience. Its flared up wheel arches are fitted with a set of 17-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels that gives the side profile an urbane look.
Mileage :
The 2.0-litre oil burner is incorporated with a common rail direct injection fuel supply system, which has the ability to churn out 17.68 Kmpl on the highways and 13.33 Kmpl within the city. The 1.7-litre TFSI drive-train is capable of returning a peak mileage of 15.26 Kmpl.
Acceleration :
An efficient automatic transmission gear box is paired with both the mills, which helps them in achieving a top speed of 232 Kmph. Its petrol version can break the 100 Kmph speed mark in 8.2 seconds, while the other trim can do it in 8.4 seconds.
