4) Hero HX250R
Even though the company is late to join the party,
it has come up with something that is surely worth the wait. Hero Motocorp has
just launched the Hero HX 250R bike which looks drop dead gorgeous to say the
least and has mechanicals that would blow away the competition. It is expected
to be launched in a few months of time, probably in early Q2 2015. Hero is said
to be conducting extensive road tests on this motorcycle before launch.
Design and Style
Hero HX250R
has got a lot of features to completely bedazzle you and make you forget other
bikes in its segment which includes twin multi-reflector LED headlights, front
and rear turn indicators, black rear view mirrors, sports bike type positioned
handlebar and footrests, Fireblade-like styling, a stylish under-seat exhaust,
17-inch alloy wheels with 110/80 front and 140/70 rear tubeless tires, geodesic
tubular frame, a maintenance free 12V-6Ah battery, dual seats including rear
step-up seat, rear grab handle, self-start, low friction engine oil, LED tail
light, a closed crankcase ventilation system, a well sculpted fuel tank of
12.9liters, stylish body graphics and LED position lamp.
Dimensions & Instrument Panel
Hero HX250R
has a length of 2085mm, a width of 735mm and a height of 1145mm as its dimensions
along with a kerb weight of 139kgs. It has a large wheelbase of 1370mm for a
stable ride and a good ground clearance of 145mm for a bump-free ride. It also
has a beautiful instrument panel with a digital fuel gauge and speedometer, an
analogue tachometer, two digital trip meters, a pass light, a stand alarm and a
low fuel and battery indicator.
Engine & Gearbox
Hero HX250R
has got an all-new 249cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, EFI, liquid-cooled, DOHC,
all-aluminium engine with a maximum power of 31 bhp and a maximum torque of 26
Nm and is mated with a six-speed constant mesh gearbox. It has a bore and
stroke of 81mm and 48.5mm respectively along with a wet multi-plate clutch. It
has a top speed of over 150kmph and reaches 0-60kmph mark in just 2.7 seconds,
which is remarkable. With its light weight and high power, the power to weight
ratio is sure to make everyone's eyes pop.
Brakes & Suspension
Hero HX250R
has got a combined braking system which includes a 300mm diameter single disk
with 3-piston calliper at front and a 220mm diameter single disk at rear. The
presence of optional ABS is also a nice addition on top of that. The suspension
system consists of high-quality 37mm telescopic forks at front and monoshock
with 5-step adjustable preload and shim valve damping at rear.
Expected Variants & Price
Hero HX250R
will be available in 2 variants in a combination of black and red shade at an
expected ex-showroom, Delhi price of INR 1.30 lakhs for the standard model and
INR 1.50 lakh for the ABS variant, which may vary, by the last quarter of this
year.
